Rehhhhhhd-rum!

Rehhhhd-rum!

redrum,Redrum,REDRUM,REDRUM,REDRUM,REDRUM!

All right, who didn’t freak out during the movie The Shining when the little kid who spoke using his finger began saying “redrum” over-and-over? For me, it was nearly a “Depends moment” by the time Olive Oyl realized the kid was actually saying murder backwards.

Coming out with a rum called REDRUM was one of those brilliant ideas that’s sitting right there in front of you. I mean you have one of the most famous movies of all-time as a publicity machine for your product. Of course, most of us miss out on those opportunities…secretly wishing we could come up with that “one good idea” that makes us our millions.

Dan DaDalt isn’t like the rest of us. He’s the one that came up with REDRUM. You’ve probably seen the product in the store. The blood red bottle is shaped kind of like a coffin. Running down the side (starting at the bottom) is a raised-letter REDRUM, which of course reads MURDER when you read it top-to-bottom.

For all of this “gruesomeness” it must be pretty harsh stuff…shouldn’t it? If you read the back of the bottle you get some insight into the product. You see it’s a flavored rum with mango, coconut, pineapple and berry flavorings. The final hint of what to expect within the bottle is the instructions that while it’s great over ice, it also goes well with fruit juices and “foo-foo” drinks (yes, it says foo-foo drinks).

I cracked open the REDRUM and just drank a shot “straight-up.”

Mango
Coconut
Pineapple
Berry

YUM!

It’s like a pre-mixed “foo-foo” drink. I mean why would you need to spend the money on mixers…this one does just fine on its own.

I did want to see how it held up in a cocktail though. While I have to admit I’m not opposed to foo-foo drinks, in this instance I elected just to try REDRUM with Coke. I believe that could best be described as a Hawaiian Punch Coke.

REDRUM is truly !HCOOH RELLIK.
